Jenis data yang digunakan berupa data primer dan sekunder. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah kondisi eksisting tenaga pendidik SD, SMP dan SMA Negeri Kota Tarakan pada tahun 2015. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1) kesesuaian rasio guru siswa dengan rasio ideal 2) Jumlah kelebihan dan kekurangan guru pada tiap jenjang dan pada tiap mata pelajaran 3) Kesesuaian pendidikan guru dengan mata pelajaran yang diampu 4) Persentase guru yang belum tersertifikasi 5) Jumlah guru yang akan pensiun dan 6) Proyeksi kebutuhan guru. It is showed that the percentage of the student answer mostly expected from VOST instrument. Based on research data and discussion can be concluded that literacy science of student in junior and senior highschool in Tarakan City ins good. This research is qualitative with purposive sampling technique. This study aim to evaluate the implementaion of environmental education in the junior highschool and senior highschool in the City of Tarakan. Environmental issues in the City of Tarakan, North Kalimantan, naturally to be followed up immidiately by knowing the level of science literacy students. Environmental preservation is the responsibility of all cityzens. Safeguards and environmental management can be included in the learning activities in the school environment as an early stage of environmental conservation. In Chapter 3 of article 6 on environmental protection and Management Policy verse (1) state that the policy of environmental protection and management is caried out based on sustainable development approach comprehensively and consistantly protection which combines the interests of protection and function of the social environment.
Regulation of environmental protection and management in the City of Tarakan have been set within City regulation Number 2, 2013.
